Day 13

13. Write a story about an alien who stinks and is very ugly but he or she is very friendly and has the cure for all major diseases.

I can't tell you where this took place. It's top secret. But I can tell you what I encountered.

It was a Tuesday, and I was called in to interrogate a strange individual the FBI found walking the streets of Las Vegas. I didn't think too much of it, Las Vegas is full of weirdo's. But anyway, they snatched him up and brought him to said secret location. When I arrived they warned me I may want an air control mask. I said I was OK and headed towards the interrogation room.

When I walked in, the smell nearly knocked me end-over-end. I didn't know such a scent existed. But when I glanced across the room, the real shock set in. This wasn't some Las Vegas Looney, it was surely an unearthly being.

Green sunken eyes. A head similar to a triceratops. And an extremely lanky body. His finger's looked like straws. He glanced at me and I at him. As I approached the table to sit I really didn't know what to say. It was my first real alien encounter.

I plopped into the chair and he cracked a smile. "Hello," he said. I could only nod back my acknowledgement. "Do you know why they brought me here?" he asked. "I'd imagine because you stick out like a sore thumb," I responded "what exactly are you doing on our planet?" He looked to the corner of the room. I could tell he was contemplating whether to lie or come out with his mission. "I'm here," he stuttered "for surveillance." "What sort of surveillance?" I asked. "To see if your planet is free from a virus we have been encountering back home," he claimed.

"Where's home?" I pushed. Silence. He looked around the room, waiting for me to move onto the next question.

"Do we have the virus?" I asked. "No," he said, "but you do have old illnesses we found cures for centuries ago."

"We'd like to know about those cures," I said.

And just like that he disappeared. I started to believe this was all a dream. But everyone else from that day confirmed my fears. We were greeted by an alien, and he had the cure to everything. But perhaps it was too soon for us to meet. Or maybe he was being monitored from an outside source the whole time.
