I'll never be your beast of burden. I'm not too blind to see the smile on your face as I take the stage from Gene. In front of 20-some bar dwellers. Gathered here for one reason - to sing. No judgement, just the joy of music. Karaoke night at the bar down the street.

Ain't I tough enough? To strut around that stage like Jagger. Never be... but all I want is for you to keep smiling. You see me shakin? You took the blues away from me. 

If I have to break my back. If my feet start hurtin. You can put me out, on the street. Hell, take the shoes off my feet. I'll keep coming back. My pretty pretty pretty girl. ooooo eeeyyy!

I'll never be that beast of burden. Cuz a frown is a burden on me.

Throw it all at me - s'mores dip at 11:33 - shoes that cost 100 times 3 - I can shrug it off. Your happiness is all I wanna see.
